The Rideau Valley Home Educators' Association is a non-profit, volunteer, Christian organization. Their purpose is to offer support to home schooling families as well as to increase awareness and acceptance of alternative education by the community, school boards and the government. RVHEA serves a membership made up of families from Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec in Canada.

HBLN has no membership fees, official meetings, or other formal structure. The primary purpose of the network is to provide ways for members of the Ottawa area home learning community to make connections, including gatherings, email announcements, and a membership list. Experienced home learners are also available by phone or email to provide guidance to those new to home learning. An online discussion group is available to members.

The Doorstep Alliance is network of homeschoolers/unschoolers based in the Almonte & Carleton Place area. Their yahoo group allows you to communicate with other homeschoolers in these areas. Their members send out messages about upcoming field trips, classes & lessons, speakers, conferences and support meetings which are designed for homeschooling families.
